• Agility Committee – Pete Dolan
• In process of re-writing/honing the rulebook in case ASCA has to stand alone one day without NADAC. Pete explained some NADAC rules for the group.
• Juniors – Cindy King
• Two questions being discussed in the committee for which Cindy was looking for input
• PeeWee – should an age limit be instituted? Members present felt the rule should reflect a readiness for the child and dog to be in the ring unassisted.
• Should Junior be all breeds or Aussies only? Members present felt the rule should remain the same – all breeds.
• Stockdog – Joe Adamczyk
• Changed wording on Ranch Trial application
• Course C was approved for another 2 year test
• Looking at implications of ASCA realigning regions to include more regions
• Changed wording for granting re-runs at the Finals
• Subcommittee is working on the Working Description

• Event Updates
• July 30, 31 & August 1 – Moose-a-Mania – Clara Grover – The trial went very well, had huge entries, there were majors all days.
• August 28 & 29 – Stock Dog Trial – Janet Benson’s – Everything went well, despite the heat.
• September 9-12 - Stock Clinic and Stock Trial with Kathy Warren – Deb & Joe Adamczyk – Have 10 handlers and 1 junior auditor. The trial is going to be very small – there are only about 9 runs, initial budget showed break even point at 30 runs. But overall it looks like the combined clinic and trial will break even or be a little over budget. Everything is set to go. If ever to do again, would probably just do the clinic.
• October 8,9,10 – HMM – Peter Kontos – Agility is filled, stock is almost full. Need 1 obedience steward for Friday and one for Sunday. Need to get work out to juniors about the free Junior seminar (October 1 deadline). Need numbers for the DNA blood draw – contact Peter directly.
• October 17 – Tracking – Celeste Kelly – no report
• November 13 & 14 – Cranberry Classis – Fran Swanson – no report
• HMM 2005 – September 23, 24, 25, 2005 - Peter Kontos – Peter is already working on judges.

• 2005 Calendar
• January 2005 meeting date changed to January 2 at Meeting at Canine Mastery, Seekonk, MA
• in July scheduled this meeting for January 9^th to keep it off the holiday weekend. However, Canine Mastery is not available on January 9^th and several members will be attending a seminar on that date. Therefore, it was decided to return the meeting to the first Sunday in January, January 2^nd
• March 26 & 27 – Rescue Show at Paws 'N Effect's new facility in Hamden, CT
• It was decided to keep this event at Paws ‘N Effect. Co-locating with SNEAK at the Brooklyn Fairgrounds the 3^rd weekend in April would require ASCNE to bring ring gates (which we have) and mats (which we do not have).
• It was noted March 26-27 is Easter Weekend – Brenda is going to see if March 19-20 is available instead
• May – Intro to Herding – Tenley will probably do – not sure on dates
• June – Bob Vest Sheep and Cattle Clinics will happen – not sure on dates

• Research for Hosting ASCA Nationals
• Pete is meeting with the director of the Sussex County Fairgrounds to see if the site meets the requirements for an ASCA National
• questionnaire is reprinted and responses included later in the newsletter
• a yahoo group has been set up and the presidents from the 7 New England clubs have been contacted

• Match Show Bulletin Ad
• At the November 2003 meeting, it was suggested to put an ad in the Match Show Bulletin with an overview of ASCNE’s events (e.g., obedience, herding, agility, tracking open to all breeds), informing individuals to provide Brenda Dean with their address and identify the venues they are interested in if they want a flyer/premium.
• Cindy put the text together for this ad and brought it for review. The cost for a small one-time ad is $75, a larger ad is $125. It was decided at this meeting to table the ad – the venues are filling nicely.

• Motion made and passed to send $500 to ASCA for the Stockdog Finals, for expenses
• Sheila Dolan made a motion to send $250 for the Agility Finals – motion passed.

• Ivermectin Sensitivity
• Cindy brought an article about Ivermectin Sensitivity Testing for Australian Shepherds. It is in this newsletter.
• It was also mentioned that ProHeart6 has been pulled back.

• Cindy mentioned there are 3 steel stock panels that need to be welded and repainted after HMM
