ASCA Cattle Clinic and HerdingTrial

B Course on Saturday, August 24th , The New Proposed C Course on Sunday, August 25th.
Day of trial entries taken from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. both days (if space available).
Clinic begins at 8:00 a.m; Trials 2:00 p.m.
Bitches in season run in order. Must be crated at other times.

Stock: The cattle are dog broke (but not course trained) veal calves, roughly 300 - 500lbs. Worked by aussies.

Clinic fees - $100 (includes both days. Single days for clinic not accepted, but o.k., for trials).
Trial fees: B course - Pre-entry $35. Day of trial $40. Proposed C Course - Pre-entry $25. Day of trial $30.

Entries are limited (10 for the clinic, 12 for the trial) so get your entries in early. Entries open July 1. None accepted with a post mark before that date. Please indicate on the outside of your envelope whether entry is for both clinic and trial(s), for clinic only or for trial(s) only.

Ribbons: Standard ASCA ribbons and rosettes for B course. No ribbons for the C course but all entry fees payed back to winners of each class - started, open and advanced.

Accommodations: no motels in the immediate area take dogs (try the Super Eight and Motel 6 south of Hartford.
At least one takes dogs and they are located 30 - 45 minutes from trial grounds).
Camping (tents, RV’s, etc.) at Markham Meadows Campground in East Hampton, Ct. close to Trial Grounds.

Directions
From north - take 91 south to 9 south to first light in Middletown. At light take right and follow signs to Rt. 66 Portland. This will take you onto the Arigoni bridge across the Ct. River. When you cross the river stay right on Rt. 66 east to stoplight at Rt. 17 North. There is a small strip mall at the corner of 66 and 17N with a Dairy Queen and Dunkin’ Donuts. Turn left onto Rt. 17 North and then take the first right onto Ames Hollow Road. Go about a half a mile. The road will go down a hill. Take a right into the field at the bottom of the hill.

From South - take 91 north to the Middletown exit (Rt 66 east). Follow Rt 66 east (it becomes Washington Street) to down town Middletown. At Main Street take left and follow onto Bridge. From there follow directions above.

From West - Take 691, which becomes Rt 66 to Middletown. Follow Rt 66 to Main St. and across bridge to Portland From there follow directions above.

From East - Take Rt. 66 west past East Hampton to Rt. 17 north. From there follow directions above.
